Can't wait until Christmas!

Throughout our relationship, Mike & I have been notoriously bad at waiting until Christmas to give each other our gifts. This year we had EVERY INTENTION of waiting for the big day--but it hasn't happened (surprise, surprise!). I think we just get so proud of ourselves and excited to see the other's reaction that we just can't wait. So far (that's right--I still need to get him more!), I've gotten Mike a cordless Craftsman drill/flashlight and a bit set. In the picture is what I've gotten--the awesome OSU diaper bag, the OSU watch I've been wanting, and the bear wearing the "OSU Mom" sweatshirt (notice a pattern?). He already was, but this officially makes Mike the BEST HUSBAND EVAH!!!

Okay, I'm done with snow!

This was the view from my desk at work this morning. I always dread the first snow of the season because Columbus folks FREAK OUT when the white stuff starts falling. Our first snow was today, and it was relatively big (about 4 or 5 inches) compared to what we normally get. I had to drive pretty slow to make it to work, but I made it at my regular time; most other folks were pretty late (I know someone who was on the road for 3 hours!). If this was the last snow of the season, I would be JUST FINE with that--I HATE snow with a passion!!!

Tee-Hee...

Oklahoma fan...

...but only for 1 week! If they can beat Missouri on Saturday night, the Buckeyes will get to play for a National Championship for the second time in two years! We should even be able to pull of a win this time, ESPECIALLY with last year's embarassing loss to Florida still fresh in the players' minds! GO SOONERS!!!

Mmmmmm, bagels...

Okay, I know I should have updated sooner, but I've been busy! In the time since I last posted, we've found out WE'RE HAVING A BOY (Aiden Michael Cotter), OSU beat M*ch*gan AGAIN, and I released 24 titles at work! And on top of it all, it's time to get ready for the holidays!!! I can't BELIEVE we only have 18 weeks yet until this little boy of ours shows up!!! Just a LITTLE bit to do around here...

On a lighter note, I just saw that Megan posted about her bagel issue. That is HYSTERICAL to me because this morning, as Mike & I sat at Einstein Bros. Bagels and I literally WOLFED down my everything-bagel-not-toasted-with-jalepeno-salsa-cream-cheese, I told him the bagel was SOOOOOOOO perfect that I was going to devote a blog entry to it. Imagine my surprise to see Megan had a similar subject on her mind! Craziness. Anywho, if you are lucky enough to have an Einstein Bros. Bagels anywhere near you, drop everything and go buy one of the aforementioned bagels--I've never had a better one in my life, and that jalepeno salsa cream cheese is ABSOLUTE HEAVEN. Their Chai Tea Latte is amazing, too.

Happy Thanksgiving, all!!!

Mike's Hobby & Other Goings-On

A few weeks ago, Mike was finally able to score a camera he liked at the camera store he works at. He had been looking at one with a pretty high price tag, but luckily an older model was traded in, and he got a great price on it. He's been having a blast taking photos of random stuff, including the kitties, flowers, and my belly (check out that bump! That was last weekend when I was 18 weeks along).
OSU will be playing Penn State in Happy Valley tonight--should be a pretty good game. Makes me almost as nervous to go over there as it does to have the No. 1 ranking. I like being the underdog SOOOOOO much better (41-14 at the hands of Urban Whiner's Florida, anyone?). Regardless, it should be a great game--I'm just happy it's our last night game until the bowls start up. GO BUCKS!!!

Okay, so...

Yeah, I'm a bad person because I haven't posted on here in awhile, but seeing as how things are going to change drastically at the Cotter household in a few months, I figured I'd better start posting. Most of you out there know that Mike & I are preggers (17 weeks, 2 days, but who the heck is counting?!), and since there's a lot of our family out-of-state, I wanted to make sure everyone had access to updates. So here's where you should go to learn all things "Cotterized" :)

In the pregnancy realm, I've really kind of "blossomed" in the past week--in other words, I've popped. WEIRD that there's now a tummy where there never really was one before! (Please don't read into that as bragging; I've always been blessed with a high metabolism, so I'm just trying to give you my perspective :)) You can definitely see it in the photo above--and by the way, isn't that stroller just the CUTEST THING EVER?! I won about $95 during this past weekend's OSU game through our pool at work, so off we went to make a baby purchase--of course it HAD to be Buckeye-related since they kind of funded it. Can't wait to try it out!

In other news, Mike has a new job as the shipping manager for a local camera store. So far he likes it, and I LOVE the fact that he works normal hours--I actually get to see him around 6 PM every night instead of 9:30 or 10! It's also about a 2-minute drive from our apartment, so it's been a real blessing.

Okay, I need to go veg out for awhile; for some reason I woke up at 3:30 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, so I'm running on empty. Hope everyone is well!!! Stay tuned for more updates; we find out whether our peanut is a boy or a girl on November 8 :)

I still exist :)

Sorry it's been awhile since my last post; work has been pretty crazy/stressful (in more than one capacity), but I don't want to bore you with that here; I suppose I should just take solace in the fact that's it all going to slow down a bit in the next month or so. After that, all attention will be focused on our upcoming honeymoon. I can't even BEGIN to tell you how EXCITED we both are for that!!! Mike hasn't had a vacation since he started at FedEx last January, so he deserves this more than anything.
In other news, I joined the 21st century this week--I finally got an iPod. It's actually my first mp3 player EVER, so I'm pretty stoked. I bought it in advance of my suspected tax return; figured I deserved it since this is the fist time in three years I'm actually getting money back from the government instead of paying them!!! A big thanks to Megan for spending 45 minutes on the phone with me Friday night trying to figure out how to get the songs already on our computer onto my iPod. Now I'll be rockin' out with the rest of civilization! Mike already made fun of me yesterday for jamming to Quiet Riot. Awesome. :)
Other than that, we're just taking it easy on the weekends. Mike & I try to keep things clear on Saturdays & Sundays since we both have them off; with our opposite work schedules during the week, we only see each other right before I leave in the morning, and then maybe about a half-hour or so after he gets home at night. So weekends are OUR time, and they're my favorite part of the week!
