My Week (45) in Instagram

Here's my (tired) statement once again--I need to get back to posts with actual words & thoughts. Mike recently started a new schedule with his job, though, as well as class on the evenings he's not already working, so I'm pulling A LOT of single mom time lately. And with my ever growing belly, once I sit down at night after the boys go to bed, I'm pretty much not getting up. But it's not my goal to bore you all to pieces with only Instagram posts, either. October promises to be a bit more exciting (word on the street is that one of the resident munchkins is turning TWO), so hang in there...

Sunday 9/23/12: Fall decorations are up!!! YAY FALL!!!

Sunday 9/24/12: Playdate at the pumpkin patch (full post to come) was a blast,
even if it was just Aiden (& Justin) & me representing the Cotters.

Sunday 9/23/12: My shopping buddy for a quick trip to Carter's, which was PACKED.

Tuesday 9/25/12: Tuesdays are AWESOME again now that NCIS is back :):):)

Thursday 9/27/12: Nicked myself shaving, and these were
the only bandaids in the house. The mom of boys... :)

Saturday 9/29/12: Cheesin' on the couch during the Buckeye game :)

My Week (44) in Instagram

Sunday 9/16/12: Hangin' with Aunt Heidi at Apple Hill,
where we stopped for the BEST apple cider and to-die-for apple donuts :)

Monday 9/17/12: Picked these up at Cracker Barrel.
It took an awful lot of willpower NOT to shove them all in my mouth at once.

Tuesday 9/18/12: Hooray for the 1-hour glucose test. STILL waiting on results.

Thursday 9/20/12: Tired boy before bed time :)

Friday 9/21/12: Justin made me buy (and devour!) this. I have SUCH a demanding fetus.

Friday 9/21/12: Family dinner at IHOP since it was one of Mike's (rare) nights off.
He & Aiden were practicing writing while we waited for our food.

Friday 9/21/12: Possibly one of my favorite photos of Nolan to date. :)

Monthly Mumbles, September Edition

10. Cannot believe we’re already more than halfway through September. Seriously. But I’m not complaining at all—I’m loving this cooler weather, and the pumpkins in the stores, and the football on the weekends—ALL OF IT. :)

9. Glucose test was this morning. I don’t imagine I’ve got gestational diabetes (that would be totally new for me), but they also did another blood draw to check my platelets. That’s what I’m REALLY curious about, and I won’t hear results for another day or two. Waiting, waiting, waiting…

8. Nolan turns two one month from today. E. Friggin’. Gads. He’s been a lot more fun lately; the grumpiness that has plagued him for a good part of the last, oh, 12 months or so, has been gradually subsiding. I’m noticing that the more words he “learns,” the better his mood.

7. Aiden re-started swim lessons Sunday. We’d held off over the summer since things started to go south during the spring session; he would do great until about half-way through the lesson, but then he would shut down completely because he was too cold in the water. We’re talking full-on tears here, people. So we’re at a different pool this time to see if that helps; so far, so good! He said he did get cold, but he didn’t give up. I’m cautiously proud; I’m reserving my final judgement until after this Sunday’s lesson.

6. NCIS Season 10 premieres one week from tonight! I’m a total dork, but I’M SO EXCITED!!!!!

5. My tiny little Scentsy business is having a decent month. Good thing, too, because I’m gonna put it on hold starting in November. I’ll still take orders & all that, but no house parties; it’s getting to difficult to lug this stuff around with my growing belly…

4. With everything that went down in June, I forgot to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of my graduation from The Ohio State University. Good thing the university decided to remind me, though; they’re putting on a special wine tasting event for the classes of ’02 and ’07 as part of this year’s homecoming weekend. Not exactly great for me, since I can’t enjoy the wine—but the access to two tickets to the sold-out, nationally televised game vs. Nebraska the next evening? Let’s just say I couldn’t sign up fast enough. I won’t be as preggers as I was with Nolan when I attended a few years ago (and even if something were to happen, there’s a hospital right next door), but it’s a NIGHT GAME, for crying out loud—we’re lucky to get those here in Cbus. So I’ll be there—loud, proud, and large!!!

3. I r-e-a-l-l-y need to work on getting Aiden & Nolan in the same room. With just under three months until Justin arrives, I’m getting nervous that this transition won’t have materialized. And it’s not like Nolan can share the crib with a newborn. Time to get down & dirty.

2. A little over three months until Christmas, and I’ve got A LOT of shopping to do. Combine that with no energy, and you’ve got my current status. Motivation, WHERE THE HECK ARE YOU?!

1. Three & a half months on, and the hurt feels just as fresh. I really miss my Mom. :(

My Week (43) in Instagram

Saturday 9/8/12: Silly faces during the Buckeye game :)

Sunday 9/9/12: Trunk packed nicely for my first Scentsy party of the fall.

Monday 9/10/12: Took Nolan to the doctor to find out what his weekend-long fever was all about.
Luckily, just a virus that worked its way out.

Wednesday 9/12/12: He loves to do this. Whatever.

Wednesday 9/12/12: When did my 4 1/2-year-old start looking so mature????

Friday 9/14/12: Best shoes (though probably also most uncomfortable) EVAH.

Friday 9/14/12: Food truck happy hour in the parking lot at work = good times :)

Friday 9/14/12: How big?! :)

Friday 9/14/12: So proud of the tower he built :)

Bumpdate: Six Months

How Far Along: 6 months (27 weeks) today!

Total Weight Gain: I still think maybe 10 lbs total, but I’ll know for sure after next week’s appointment.

Size of Baby: According to Babycenter, nearly two whole pounds!!!

Maternity Clothes: Other than a few non-preggo tops, I’m in mostly maternity gear now. And my options are dwindling; it’s not cool enough for my sweaters, but it’s not warm enough for my tank tops. And I’m too thrifty cheap to buy anything new at this point. We’ll see how desperate I get…

Gender: Most definitely a BOY!

Movement: He cycles between sleeping (no movement at all) and then really HUGE kicks. I wonder if this all-or-nothing pattern should give me insight into his personality :)

Sleep: Still not a big problem, though I have had to get up a few more times to pee lately. And obviously that’s only gonna get worse.

What I Miss: Honestly, it’s still pretty much just beer, especially on college football Saturdays! Next season will be back to normal, I suppose.

Cravings: Twix bars. And Piada (oh how I LOVE YOU, Piada…).

Other Crazy Symptoms: Hmmmmmm…tailbone throbbing that I don’t remember from the other two boys. Oh, and how about a general lack of motivation to do pretty much anything? I’m guessing these will only get worse as I get bigger…

Best Moment this Month: Definitely Nolan’s new “understanding” that something’s going on in Mommy’s tummy. He’ll peel back my shirt, pat my belly, and say “Hi Baby!” Then he’ll stick his finger in my belly button (it’s still an inny!!!), pull down my shirt, and say “B’bye!” So sweet and innocent…until he smacks my belly & giggles. Oh well, baby steps here, folks.

My Week (42) in Instagram

Mostly Nolan pictures this week--oops. Need to work on spreading the wealth, I guess.

Sunday 9/2/12: Sent some of our Labor Day weekend at the Air Force Museum. The boys did well :)

Sunday 9/2/12: Nolan really likes his new airplane :)

Tuesday 9/4/12: Chillin' with a drink.

Thursday 9/6/12: First Pumpkin Chai Latte of the season.
BLISS, even if it had to be enjoyed at work.

Friday 9/7/12: My post-haircut boy. He looks so much older. I miss the curls.

Friday 9/7/12: Aiden and I stopped by Aunt Abby's 30th Birthday Bowling Bash.
It was hilarious how excited this kid would get when knocking the pins down :)

Saturday 9/8/12: Stupid fever. He's perked up a bit after some Tylenol,
so we're hoping our day won't be a total bust.

September BLOG STAR!

Why HELLO THERE!!!

My name is Kim, and this is my second month participating in Blog Star via Mrs. Monologues! I had so much fun last month I figured I’d come back to stalk discover new people again this month!!!

The best way to get the deets on who I am is to click above on the About Me/Our Story tabs, or even browse the left-hand column for the briefs on my little family.

In the spirit of September’s start, and therefore fall’s imminent arrival, let me tell you a few things about myself that relate to my favorite season!
  •  I am a HUGE Ohio State Buckeye fan. This shouldn’t be a surprise—it’s my alma mater and all that, but I was a fan before I ever started shelling out large amounts of cash to attend the university. Seriously, I BREATHE all things Buckeye, and though I’ll have to enjoy this entire season sans-beer (due to this wonderful little pregnancy), I’ll be yelling at cheering on my boys every weekend just the same!!! GO BUCKS!!!
  •  Another very exciting thing coming up for me—the Season 10 premiere of NCIS!!! I’m not the least bit afraid to admit that I totally geek out to this show. Michael Weatherly, who plays Tony DiNozzo…YUMMO. Beautiful smile, gorgeous green eyes, and a killer sense of humor—what’s left to desire for a TV crush?! C’mon, September 25th—get here so I can get my fix!
  • With the weather (hopefully) cooling off soon, I'm ready to break out the sweaters & boots, head to the apple orchard, and purchase my weight in pumpkins. I just LOVE this time of year.
  • Nolan, my adorable-yet-challenging second son, will be celebrating his second birthday in October. And while my results aren't exactly worthy of posting on Pinterest, I adore planning the boys's parties--at least while they're little enough to let me. :)
  • Fall also means we're just that much closer to welcoming Son Number 3--Justin--into the world at the beginning of December!
So that's me--and I'd love to learn more about you!!! Join the link-up and let's chat! :)
